There are diverse goals to be met by a Web site. Reasons for putting pages out onto the Web range from showing off family photographs, to entertainers’ fans sites, to “brochureware” business sites, to the e-commerce-enabled storefronts. These are Web site "missions"-- the reasons the sites exists. I categorize missions as:
